Houston, TX (My Sportsbook) - The Cincinnati Reds optioned infielder Jerry Hairston Jr. to Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday to begin a rehab assignment. Hairston has been on the disabled list since July 17 with a strained right hamstring he suffered running out a bunt against the Brewers on July 13. In 56 games this season, he was hitting .351 with two home runs, 22 RBI and 15 stolen bases. Hairston was scheduled to play five innings at shortstop in Louisville's game in Charlotte on Tuesday. |
