Houston, TX (My Sportsbook) - The Houston Astros claimed pitcher Alberto Arias off waivers from the Colorado Rockies on Thursday and optioned the right-hander to Triple-A Round Rock. The 24-year-old Arias made 12 appearances for the Rockies this season, posting a 2.63 earned-run average. He was 3-4 with a 4.73 ERA in 30 games with Triple- A Colorado Springs with 41 strikeouts in 45 2/3 innings before being designated for assignment. Arias made his MLB debut in 2007 for Colorado, going 0-1 with a 4.91 ERA in six appearances with the club.
