Philadelphia, PA (My Sportsbook) - The
Philadelphia 76ers put their three- game winning streak on the line this evening when the
Cleveland Cavaliers come to town for the finale of their four-game homestand.
Perenial All-Star Allen Iverson's status is up in the air after suffering a right thumb sprain on Wednesday against the Los Angeles Clippers. Iverson is officially listed as day-to-day.
According to team physician Dr. Jack McPhilemy, the Georgetown product will stay in a splint and be examined daily.
Iverson led the Sixers to a 101-99 overtime win over the Clippers on Wednesday. He registered 34 points on 11-of-28 shooting, while center Todd MacCulloch added 15 points and eight rebounds.
The Sixers played without starting forward Derrick Coleman, backup center Samuel Dalembert and key reserve Monty Williams -- all out with knee injuries.
"We won three games we might have lost," Sixers coach Larry Brown said. "Any win we can scratch is a plus until we get some guys back."
Aaron McKie added 12 points, eight rebounds and five assists for Philadelphia, while Eric Snow chipped in 14 points and eight dimes.
"We're just finding ways to win," McKie said. "We're not playing our best basketball. That's a good sign. Things will get better for us. We have a lot of new guys. We have to get used to each other."
Cleveland enters this contest off a 107-100 loss to the Washington Wizards on Wednesday. The Cavs have dropped two of their last three games, but have impressed in the process.
Ricky Davis led the way with 27 points against the Wizards, while Jumaine Jones dropped in 18 in the defeat. The Cavs were a bit flat after beating the Los Angeles on the previous night.
"We looked like a team on the second night of a back-to-back," Cavaliers coach John Lucas said. "I thought we did a great job to get back in the game. Then at the start of the third quarter, we fell back. They did a lot of good things defensively. They really challenged each shot and they hustled well."
Smush Parker registered 11 points and Tyrone Hill and Darius Miles tossed in 10 apiece. Miles grabbed 10 rebounds and Hill added nine caroms in the defeat.
The Sixers have owned the Cavs in recent years, winning 12 straight meetings, including seven consecutive at First Union Center.
