Salt Lake City, UT (My Sportsbook) - The Utah Jazz try to put an end to a two-game losing streak on Friday when they welcome the
Atlanta Hawks to the Delta Center.
The Jazz are off to their second 1-4 start in as many seasons.
On Wednesday, Utah suffered a tough 80-78 home loss to the Detroit Pistons.
Andrei Kirilenko paced the Jazz with 17 points and eight boards, while Scott Padgett had 15 points and 11 rebounds off the bench for Utah. John Stockton chipped in with 10 points and six assists in the loss.
Utah had a chance to tie the game in the final seconds, but Mark Jackson's 18-footer clanged off the back of the iron as time expired.
The Jazz were without star forward Karl Malone, who missed the game with a head cold. It was just the sixth game Malone missed in his career because of injury or illness. He is questionable for Friday's game.
Atlanta had a three-game winning streak snapped in its last contest, falling at Phoenix Wednesday, 93-88.
Jason Terry led the Hawks with 22 points and eight assists. He was also 4- of-10 from behind the arc.
Shareef Abdur-Rahim chipped in 19 points and Glenn Robinson scored 15 for Atlanta, which lost for the first time since opening night at New Jersey. Robinson shot just 6-of-20 from the field and ended a four-game streak of scoring 20 or more points.
Atlanta, playing the third of a five-game road trip Friday, is 1-2 as the visitor this season, while the Jazz are 1-1 at home.
Friday's game marks the final meeting between the Hawks and Jazz this season. These teams met on October 31, with Atlanta pulling out a 105-98 victory.
The Hawks have won the last two matchups with Utah after dropping seven straight. However, Atlanta has lost its last eight at Utah.
