Atlanta, GA (My Sportsbook) - The Atlanta Braves designated pitcher Royce Ring for assignment Saturday. The left-handed specialist was replaced in the bullpen by right-hander Vladimir Nunez, whose contract was purchased from Triple-A Richmond. Ring posted a 31.50 earned run average and allowed opponents to hit .536 in eight post-All-Star break appearances. He had a 1.72 ERA in 29 appearances before the break. Nunez made three appearances in July for the big league club, yielding two earned runs in 4 2/3 innings. A veteran of five seasons, the 27-year-old Ring owns a 3-3 career mark and a 4.93 ERA in 94 contests for the Mets, Padres and Braves.
