Buffalo, NY (My Sportsbook) - Buffalo Sabres defenseman Alexei Zhitnik has been suspended for two games, without pay, for a knee-to-knee hit on Carolina forward Jan Hlavac during a game against the Hurricanes on December 7. The suspension will cost Zhitnik $39,074.08 under the terms of the current collective bargaining agreement. Zhitnik will miss games against Atlanta on November 9 and Boston on November 12. In 13 games this season, Zhitnik has three assists with 37 penalty minutes and a plus-four rating. |
