Raleigh, NC (My Sportsbook) - Carolina Hurricanes center Rod Brind'Amour underwent successful surgery on his left knee Tuesday morning. Brind'Amour, 38, had torn cartilage in his meniscus removed from the knee, and is expected to be back in action for the start of the regular season. Carolina opens its season on October 10 against the Florida Panthers. The 18-season veteran had 19 goals and 31 assists for 51 points in 59 games for the Hurricanes last season. Brind'Amour has 427 goals and 687 assists -- 1,114 points -- in 1,324 games with the St. Louis Blues, Philadelphia Flyers, and Hurricanes.
