Chicago, IL (My Sportsbook) - The Milwaukee Brewers announced on Tuesday that relief pitcher David Riske will miss the remainder of the 2008 season. Riske last pitched on September 7, but upcoming surgery on September 23 to help relieve the pain from a bone spur in his right elbow will put him on the shelf until next season. Riske, who inked a three-year contract with the Brewers prior to the 2008 campaign, spent time on the disabled list this season due to the elbow. He held a 1-2 record with a 5.32 earned run average in 45 appearances. Milwaukee, which fired former manager Ned Yost on Monday, dropped a 5-4 decision to the Cubs on Tuesday. The Brewers currently trail the New York Mets by one-half game in the race for the NL wild card berth.
