Rotterdam, Netherlands (My Sportsbook) - Matches between Ajax and Feyenoord are always much-anticipated fixtures for both sets of supporters, but Sunday's game between the two Dutch powers takes on added importance with both clubs already chasing PSV Eindhoven.
PSV has captured the last four Eredivisie titles and already leads both clubs by three points through two games. PSV will be trying to make it three straight wins on Saturday when they visit AZ Alkmaar, and if they are successful, the loser of Sunday's game will already be six points down.
Both Ajax and Feyenoord dropped their opening match of the season, but both rebounded to record wins last time out.
Ajax slipped past Roda 1-0 and Feyenoord blasted Volendam 5-0, but the Rotterdam club will be trying to bounce back from a 1-0 loss to Kalmar in the UEFA Cup on Thursday, while Ajax looked impressive in beating FK Borac 4-1.
Marco van Basten, who is in his first season in charge of the Amsterdam club, is hoping to continue the positive momentum from Thursday's game, which included two goals from striker Klaas Jan Huntelaar.
The other matches on Saturday include a pair of 0-2 teams, Vitesse and Sparta, doing battle at Gelredome, while Groningen, which is one of three 2-0 teams, visits Heracles.
Promoted side Den Haag sits atop the league table after winning its first two games, and travels to Graafschap on Sunday, while Volendam, which has been outscored 8-2 this season, hosts Twente, NAC invades Roda and Heerenveen entertains NEC.
