New York, NY (My Sportsbook) - The New York Mets have announced on Thursday that they have outrighted the contracts of outfielder Tony Tarasco and lefthanded pitcher Adam Walker, while activating righthanded pitcher Kane Davis off the 60-Day Disabled list. The 31-year old Tarasco appeared in 60 games this season with the Mets, hitting .250, with six home runs, and 15 RBI. Earlier this season, Tarasco was reported to have been one of seven players on the Mets who have smoked marijuana this season. A Newsday report based on anonymous sources indicated that Tarasco and former relief pitcher Mark Corey had used the drug together. Grant Roberts was another player mentioned after a photo was released of him using a water pipe. The other four players have not been released. The Mets currently have all 40 spots filled on their roster.
