New York, NY (My Sportsbook) - Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Jocelyn Thibault has been named NHL Player of the Week for the period ending Sunday, November 10. Thibault, who garnered the award for the third time in his career, opened the week with consecutive shutouts and made 37 saves to earn another victory. Chicago blanked the defending Stanley Cup Champion Detroit Red Wings, 2-0, on the road on Tuesday, and then recorded a 5-0 win over the Atlanta Thrashers on Thursday. The Blackhawks then closed out the week with a 3-2 overtime triumph over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday. The 10-year-veteran Thibault has posted an 8-4-0 record with a 1.75 goals- against average and a .931 save percentage with a league-best three shutouts in 12 games this season. Thibault is tied for the NHL lead in wins and is second in GAA. The 27-year-old Thibault edged out St. Louis right wing Eric Boguniecki (four goals and two assists in three games), Ottawa right wing Marian Hossa (four goals and one assist in three games), Columbus center Andrew Cassels (two goals and four assists in three games) and Anaheim goaltender Jean-Sebastien Giguere (3-0-0, 1.00 GAA, one shutout) for the award.
