=== Hunter-Reay wins Champ Car pole at Milwaukee === West Allis, WI (My Sportsbook) - The final driver of the qualifying session, American Ryan Hunter-Reay grabbed the pole for the Time Warner Roadrunner 250 Champ Car race at the famed Milwaukee Mile. The Herdez Racing driver circled the one-mile oval in 20.509 seconds (181.150 m.p.h.). The pole win was the first of Hunter Reay's Champ Car career. Starting on the front row with Hunter-Reay will be Frenchman Sebastien Bourdais, who posted a time of 20.667 seconds early on in the session and held on until the last driver went out. Bourdais holds a 62-57 edge over Bruno Junqueira in the drivers championship. Patrick Carpentier (20.740) and Mario Dominguez (20.785) will start in row two. Defending series champion and three-time Milwaukee Mile winner Paul Tracy will start fifth on the 18-car grid. The race is scheduled to begin Saturday night at 9 p.m. (et). |
