=== Hunter-Reay wins Champ Cars race at Milwaukee ===
West Allis, WI (My Sportsbook) - Ryan Hunter-Reay captured the Time Warner Roadrunner 250 Champ Car race at the famed Milwaukee Mile. The No.4 Herdez Racing driver crossed the finish line 5.865 seconds ahead of runner-up Patrick Carpentier.
The win was Hunter-Reay's first of the season and second of his Champ Car career.
"What a day, with the traffic you couldn't relax for one second," said Hunter- Reay. "The guys did a great job."
Michel Jourdain Jr., Jimmy Vasser and A.J. Allmendinger completed the top- five.
Series points leader Sebastien Bourdais was the first casualty of the flat 1.032-mile oval. The Frenchman got up in the marbles on lap 50 and just couldn't keep the car off the turn 4 wall.
"I was low and when he went by and he took the air off my front wing," said Bourdais. "I tried to slow down, down shifting, but I just went straight."
Next out was 2003 Champ Car Series champion Paul Tracy. The Forsythe Racing driver was attempting to pass teammate Patrick Carpentier and like Bourdais, got off line, up in the marbles.
At the halfway point, it was all Hunter-Reay. The No.4 Herdez machine, which easily won the pole on Friday, was 13.667 second in front of Carpentier.
Hunter-Reay continued his domination and when second-place Carpentier and third-place Jourdain Jr. were penalized to the back of the field for pitting on the wrong lap, the race was over.
Hunter-Reay led all 250 laps. He is the first driver since Bobby Rahal at Nazareth in 1992 to lead every lap.
Junqueira's sixth-place finish along with Bourdais' crash gives the Brazilian the championship lead. Through three events, Junqueira has 76 points, one better than Carpentier (75) and 10 ahead of Hunter-Reay (66). Bourdais (65) and Mario Dominguez (62) make up the top-five.
The next race in the championship is scheduled for Sunday, June 20th at the 1.969-mile Portland International Raceway.
