Eden Prairie, MN (My Sportsbook) - Minnesota Vikings quarterback Daunte Culpepper said that head coach Mike Tice said he will be the starting quarterback next week, despite his poor performance and benching in Sunday's 27-20 loss to the Giants. Tice said during his Monday afternoon press conference that he has not decided on a starter. Culpepper completed just 9-of-20 passes for 91 yards before Tice sent in Todd Bouman with the Vikings trailing 19-6. Bouman fumbled on his first possession, but led the Vikings to long touchdown drives to give his team a 20-19 advantage with 2:43 remaining. New York responded with a long touchdown drive to win the game. Culpepper, who was benched for the first time in his career, has thrown an NFL-high 14 interceptions this year, although he wasn't picked off against the Giants. Culpepper has started all nine of Minnesota's games this season, completing 191-of-309 passes for 2,094 yards with eight touchdown passes. Bouman, a Minnesota native, completed 3-of-6 passes for 85 yards in Sunday's loss, his first action of the season.
