Charlotte, NC (My Sportsbook) - Carolina Panthers linebacker Lester Towns had surgery on his right foot Monday and will miss the rest of the season. Towns, who was not active for Sunday's 34-24 loss to New Orleans, had been bothered by the injury for several weeks. Because starting middle linebacker Dan Morgan is out with a groin injury, Towns was a much needed asset to the Carolina defense. Rookie Will Witherspoon made his first NFL start against the Saints. According to head coach John Fox, Morgan is doubtful for this week's game against Tampa Bay. |
