Denver, CO (My Sportsbook) - The perennial powerhouse Colorado Avalanche will try to win for the first time this season at home while ending a season-long, four-game losing streak tonight against the Columbus Blue Jackets at Pepsi Center.

In eight games at home this year, the Avs are 0-4-3-1. Colorado has lost four in a row at home and the club is riding a five-game winless streak (0-3-1-1). However, the Avalanche have never lost to the Blue Jackets (8-0).

On Sunday, Colorado suffered a 4-3 loss to the Nashville Predators at home. Alex Tanguay, Mike Keane and Joe Sakic posted goals for the Avalanche.

Patrick Roy returned to the ice after missing three games with a hip injury to collect 24 saves.

The Avalanche only scored one goal on seven power-play opportunities, while Nashville scored once on three chances with the man-advantage.

Sakic scored his first home goal of the season. His ten goals in 15 games matches his third-best start to a season from a goal scoring standpoint. Sakic leads the Avs in points against Columbus (One goal, 12 assists in eight games).

Tonight's game is one of 15 games (29 days) in the month of November for the Avalanche (including two back-to-back matchups), the most in this month since the 1992-93 season (15).

The Avalanche own an eight-game winning streak against Columbus (outscoring Columbus 33-8). Roy owns a 6-0-0 career record against the Blue Jackets with a 1.00 GAA and two shutouts.

Columbus enters tonight's tilt off its second straight win and fourth in five games. On Saturday, Rick Nash tallied two goals for his first career multi- point game to lead Columbus over the New York Rangers, 6-3, at Nationwide Arena.

Andrew Cassels collected three assists for the Blue Jackets, who have moved two games over .500 for the first time in franchise history.

Marc Denis stopped 31 shots for the Blue Jackets. Columbus was 0-of-4 on the power play, while New York failed to score with six opportunities with the man advantage.

Columbus set a team record with 66 penalty minutes.

The Blue Jackets, who lost last year's series 4-0, are 1-3-0-0 on the road this season.
