New Orleans Hornets seek their fifth straight victory on Tuesday when they face off with the
Detroit Pistons at the Palace of Auburn Hills.
The Hornets, off to their best start in franchise history after six games (5-1), haven't lost since dropping an 84-79 decision at Chicago on November 1.
Most recently, the Hornets pulled out a 97-91 overtime victory against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden on Sunday.
Baron Davis scored five of his 24 points in overtime, as the Hornets scored the last 10 points of the extra session to roll to the win. Davis also collected six rebounds and seven assists.
Jamal Mashburn finished one assist shy of a triple-double with 15 points, nine assists and 10 boards, and P.J. Brown totaled 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Detroit is returning home from a five-game road trip, which it completed with a strong 3-2 record. In the final contest of the swing, the Pistons were routed by the Dallas Mavericks, 114-75, on Saturday.
Richard Hamilton tallied 19 points and Ben Wallace pulled down a game-high 11 boards for the Pistons. Cliff Robinson finished with 13 points and Corliss Williamson and Mehmet Okur contributed 11 each.
Detroit shot just 36 percent from the field while allowing Dallas to shoot 52 percent.
Detroit went 3-1 against Hornets last season, winning the last three meetings. The Pistons have won six of the last nine meetings overall, but the Hornets have taken six of the last eight at Detroit.
The Hornets are 1-1 on the road this season, while the Pistons are a perfect 2-0 at home.
