Portland, OR (My Sportsbook) - Sebastien Bourdais captured the Portland Grand Prix Champ Car race at the Portland International Raceway. The No.2 Newman/Haas driver took the checkered flag 1.247 seconds ahead of runner-up and teammate Bruno Junqueira. The victory was Bourdais' second of the season and fifth of his Champ Car career. "It was a great race for Newman/Haas Racing," said Bourdais. "Now we're back in the thing and looking good." Bourdais led almost the entire event giving up the lead to Paul Tracy only during green flag pit stops. However, he was easily the best car on the track and held a 4.452-second margin with 10 laps to go before easing up at the finish. "I couldn't get by him and I just followed him the whole race," said teammate Junqueira. Tracy, Patrick Carpentier and Justin Wilson completed the top-five. Bourdais entered the day in fourth place in the championship, but his win jumped him to within seven points of leader Junqueira (105) and ahead of Ryan Hunter-Reay, who finished 12th. Junqueira is in second place with 99 points. The next race in the championship, the Grand Prix of Cleveland at the Burke Lakefront Airport, is scheduled for Saturday night, July 3rd.
