Washington, DC (My Sportsbook) - The Washington Redskins told wide receiver Jacquez Green he would be released Tuesday morning, according to a published report. The Washington Post reported Tuesday that Justin Skaggs is expected to be promoted from the practice squad to replace Green as the punt returner. The 26-year-old Green registered five catches for 94 yards this season. He averaged 10.2 yards per punt return and collected a 90-yard touchdown return against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 2. In five seasons, the Florida product who was a former second-round pick of Tampa Bay, has 162 receptions and has scored seven touchdowns. He spent his first four seasons with the Buccaneers before signing with the Redskins as a free agent prior to this season.
