New York, NY (My Sportsbook) - The NBA has suspended Detroit guard Chauncey Billups for one game without pay on Tuesday for intentionally throwing the basketball at a game official. The incident occurred in the Pistons' 114-75 loss in Dallas on Saturday. Billups, who was signed as a free agent by Detroit in July, will sit out Tuesday night's home game against New Orleans. He is averaging 10.1 points and 3.1 assists in seven games for the Pistons this season. The 26-year old Billups was originally selected by the Boston Celtics in the first round (third pick overall) of the 1997 NBA Draft. Playing in his sixth season, Billups has also played for the Toronto Raptors, Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves.
