Singapore (My Sportsbook) - The Asian team and International team split Friday's foursomes matches at the Lexus Cup, leaving the competition in a 3-3 tie.
Both captains lost in Friday's alternate-shot format.
International leader Annika Sorenstam, playing in what is expected to be her final LPGA Tour sanctioned event, teamed with one of the hottest players in the world, Angela Stanford, in losing to the Asian duo of Jeong Jang and Candie Kung, 3 & 2.
"Overall we are very pleased with the performance," said Sorenstam. "There were some great matches out there, some great golf overall. We had some teams that clicked very well which was fun to see. It was a good atmosphere out there and I'm very proud of the team."
Se Ri Pak, the captain of the Asian squad, and Eun Hee Ji lost 2-down to Paula Creamer and Nicole Castrale.
"The international team is strong, but overall I'm very happy," said Pak. "It's hard to focus on your game when you're focusing on your group. At the same time, I'm not happy about losing it. It happened. I tried to do well. We're happy with the results."
In the opening match, Song Hee Kim and Inbee Park toppled the International pairing of Helen Alfredsson and Christina Kim, 3 & 2.
Cristie Kerr and Karen Stupples got the International side on the board with a 2 & 1 win over the Asian team of Sarah Lee and Na Yeon Choi.
Yani Tseng, ranked second in the Rolex World Golf Rankings, and Seon Hwa Lee earned a point for the Asian team when they knocked off Suzann Pettersen and Natalie Gulbis, 2 & 1.
Pak lost in the fourth match, then Sorenstam fell in the fifth match.
In the anchor match, the International tandem of Katherine Hull and Nikki Campbell beat Namika Omata and Mayumi Shimomura, 3 & 1.
