=== Pittsburgh Pirates Team Report - June 29 === (My Sportsbook) - The Pittsburgh Pirates resume a three-game series against the St. Louis Cardinals tonight from PNC Park. The Pirates were no-hit by Jeff Suppan into the seventh inning last night. However, Craig Wilson and Jason Bay hit back-to-back two-out doubles to tie the game and the Pirates won it on a crazy play in the ninth when Jack Wilson laced a hit down the left field line off Julian Tavarez. Nobody covered second base and first baseman Albert Pujols cut off Ray Lankford's throw and then tried to get Wilson out at third, but the throw sailed wide of the base and into the dugout, allowing Wilson to score. The Pirates posted only three hits, but won their third straight game for the first time in nearly a month. Their last three-game winning streak came May 28-29 and that included a doubleheader sweep of the Chicago Cubs. Tonight the Pirates will try to equal a season-high winning streak as they captured four straight May 13-16. Sean Burnett, a 21-year-old lefthander, makes his fourth major league appearance tonight, still trying for his first victory. His most recent start was his longest outing as Burnett tossed seven innings in a 3-2 loss to Houston last Thursday. The Pirates have been outscored 20-4 in his first three outings. The Pirates have lost three of their last four at home and are 12-22 at PNC Park this season, the worst home record in the majors.
