Baltimore, MD (My Sportsbook) - The Baltimore Orioles avoided salary arbitration with outfielder Luke Scott on Tuesday. The Baltimore Sun reports it is a one-year deal worth $2.4 million, nearly a $2 million raise from his 2008 salary of $430,000. Scott, acquired from Houston as part of the Miguel Tejada trade last winter, batted .257 with 23 home runs and 65 RBI in 148 games for the Orioles last season. The 30-year-old Scott is a career .266 hitter with 51 homers and 170 RBI in 379 games with the Astros and O's.
