Oklahoma City, OK (My Sportsbook) - Tennessee legendary head coach Pat Summitt will have to wait at least one more game to pick up her 1,000th career victory as the 12th-ranked Lady Vols fell, 80-70, at No. 2 Oklahoma Monday night. Summitt, who is in her 35th year at Tennessee, is trying to become the first major college coach to notch 1,000 wins. She'll get another opportunity on Thursday when the Lady Vols host Georgia. Whitney Hand had 20 points and Danielle Robinson chipped in 17 points and 12 assists for the Sooners (19-2), who won their 15th straight game. Ashley Paris added 19 points win the triumph. Fellow Sooner Courtney Paris had her streak of 112 straight games with a double-double broken as she had nine points and 12 rebounds. Shekinna Stricklen posted 21 points to pace Tennessee (16-5), which also received 12 points from Glory Johnson, 11 from Vicki Baugh and 10 from Angie Bjorklund. Early on it looked as if Monday would be Summitt's night for the milestone, as the Lady Vols raced to a 15-point lead in the first half. Johnson's free throw made it 33-18 with nearly eight minutes left in the half, but the Sooners came back with the next 19 points and led 41-36 at the half. Oklahoma never relinquished the lead over the final 20 minutes.
