Sacramento, CA (My Sportsbook) - Kevin Martin recorded 26 points, seven rebounds and eight assists, leading the
Sacramento Kings past the
Denver Nuggets, 114-106, at ARCO Arena.
Martin went 5-for-7 from three-point range for the Kings, who won for just the fourth time in their last 23 games. Andres Nocioni scored 23 points, while Spencer Hawes had 20 points and eight rebounds.
Francisco Garcia tallied 19 points, while Bobby Jackson had 10 in the win.
Carmelo Anthony scored a game-high 32 points to go with seven rebounds for the Nuggets, who have lost six straight on the road. Chauncey Billups had 22 points and eight assists, while J.R. Smith had 19 points. Nene provided 14 points and nine boards in a losing effort.
Hawes' 11 first-quarter points put Sacramento ahead, 35-25, after the opening period, and the Kings increased their lead to 55-40 at halftime.
Anthony's dunk in the early minutes of the third brought the Nuggets to within 63-56, but the Kings responded with a 13-3 burst, as Hawes' slam with six minutes left made it 76-59.
Sacramento carried a 10-point lead to the fourth. Denver cut the deficit to six with two minutes to play on an Anthony layup, but Garcia's jumper with 1:17 left made it a nine-point game, and the Kings cruised down the stretch.
