Minneapolis, MN (My Sportsbook) - The Minnesota Twins traded pitcher Matt Kinney and catcher Javier Valentin to the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday in exchange for pitchers Gerard Oakes and Matt Yeatman. The 25-year-old Kinney made 12 starts last season and two relief appearances for the Twins before going on the disabled list with a strained rotator cuff. The righthander finished with a 2-7 record and a 4.64 earned run average. Valentin, 27, played in Triple-A Edmonton last season, and hit .286 with 21 home runs and 80 RBI. In return, the Twins added two pitching prospects. Yeatman, 20, was a 13th- round pick in the 2000 amateur draft and posted an 11-7 record with a 2.48 ERA for Class A Beloit. The 20-year-old Oakes, meanwhile, was a seventh-round pick in 2000 and went 5-14 with a 7.17 ERA in 20 starts at Beloit.
