Houston, TX (My Sportsbook) - The Houston Astros acquired infielder Jeff Keppinger from the Cincinnati Reds for a player to be named later or cash considerations, the club announced on Tuesday. "Jeff is a solid big league player who can play all over the infield," Astros general manager Ed Wade said. "He fills a number of needs with his ability to play second, short and third and he plays the game the right way. We think he's a perfect fit for our club." The 28-year-old Keppinger batted .266 with three homers and 43 runs batted in over 121 games with the Reds last season. For his career, Keppinger has a .287 average with 13 home runs and 92 RBI in 243 contests with the New York Mets, Kansas City and the Reds.
