Madison, IL (My Sportsbook) - Three-time Craftsman Truck Series champion Jack Sprague captured the pole for Saturday night's Ram Tough 200 at the Gateway International Raceway. The No.16 Chevrolet driver circled the 1.25-mile oval in a track record 33.777 seconds (133.227 m.p.h.). Sprague broke the old mark of 33.811 seconds (133.093 m.p.h.) set in August 1999 by Stacy Compton. The pole victory was Sprague's series-high third of the season and 23rd of his truck career. Only once in eight races at Gateway has the pole winner gone on to celebrate in Victory Lane - Ted Musgrave 2001. Starting on the front row with Sprague, will be last week's Built Ford Tough 225 winner Bobby Hamilton who posted a time of 33.951 seconds. Row two consists of Rick Crawford (34.007) and Steve Park (34.017). Park is driving the No.62 Dodge which Brendan Gaughan drove to victory in last year's event. Series points leader Dennis Setzer is mired in 11th place on the grid. Setzer owns a six-point lead over Hamilton after 11 races. Carl Edwards (-100), who is third in the championship, will start just ahead of Setzer on the grid in the ninth position. The race is scheduled to begin on Saturday at 8 p.m. (et).
