Anaheim, CA (My Sportsbook) - Teemu Selanne netted the winner in the fourth round of the shootout, as the Anaheim Ducks secured a postseason berth for the fourth consecutive season with a 4-3 win over the Dallas Stars at Honda Center.

Scott Niedermayer, Todd Marchant and Andrew Ebbett scored in regulation for the Ducks, who have won five of their last six games. Jonas Hiller finished with 42 saves in the win.

With 90 points, Anaheim is tied with St. Louis for the seventh spot in the Western Conference, two points behind Columbus.

"We've come together to push us into the playoffs and give us an opportunity to see what we can do there," Niedermayer said. "It's always nice to have that opportunity. You only have success when you play as a team. We're just playing harder as a team."

Steve Ott posted two goals and an assist for the Stars (36-35-11), who will miss the playoffs for the first time since 2001-02. Fabian Brunnstrom had a goal and a helper, while Marty Turco made 36 stops.

"Obviously we're disappointed, knowing for the last three or four games of the season, we knew our fate," said Stars forward Mike Modano. "We just felt like we were climbing from behind all season long. We were never able to get in a groove, get any momentum or any consistency in our game."

Anaheim grabbed a 2-1 lead when Niedermayer hammered a feed from Corey Perry past Turco at 7:03 of the third period.

Brunnstrom evened things up, jamming in a rebound at the right side of the net with 6:17 to play. The Ducks, though, responded 13 seconds later, as Selanne won a race to a dump-in, skated around the left post and dished out front to Ebbett, who deposited the disc into the yawning cage.

However, in the game's waning moments, Brunnstrom carried across the blueline and handed off to Ott for a quick one-timer from the high slot, tying the score at 3-3 with just 13.1 seconds remaining.

After a scoreless first round in the extra segment, Turco denied Bobby Ryan and Neal fired a wrister that beat Hiller high on the glove side. Ryan Getzlaf was Anaheim's last hope and he snapped a shot inside the right post before Modano caught the crossbar.

In the fourth round, Selanne came in with speed, pulled up, forcing Turco to commit and lifted the puck over the fallen netminder. Hiller then turned away Loui Eriksson to cement the win.

Marchant opened the scoring midway through the first period, but Ott buried a rebound for a power-play goal at 4:10 of the middle session.
