Indianapolis, IN (My Sportsbook) - Danny Granger had 24 points, including the two game-sealing free throws, as the Indiana Pacers edged the Detroit Pistons, 106-102, at Conseco Fieldhouse.

Brandon Rush hit a career-high five three-pointers (5-of-8) en route to 21 points for the Pacers, who've won three of four but have been eliminated from postseason contention. T.J. Ford and Jarrett Jack scored 18 points each. Troy Murphy totaled 13 boards and seven points.

"We have to keep this type of play and carry it over to the end of the season and into the next season," said Rush. "I think we're beginning to know each other a little bit better and are playing better. Carry over for the next year is what we need to do. I feel better and it doesn't matter to me how long I play. I just want to be productive."

Richard Hamilton donated 23 points and Tayshaun Prince 18 for the Pistons, who saw their three-game winning streak halted. Antonio McDyess chipped in 16 points and 15 boards, while Will Bynum gave 16 points.

The Pistons are one game behind the Bulls for the seventh seed in the East.

Trailing by four late in the game, Hamilton hit a jumper and, after Bynum stole the ball from Murphy, added a three-pointer to give the visitors a 100-99 lead with 2:09 showing.

The lead seesawed until Jack's layup and Murphy's free throw gave the Pacers a 104-102 cushion with 16 ticks left.

Following a timeout, the Pistons inbounded the ball and Prince drove the lane but lost his footing as Jack stole the ball. Granger was eventually fouled with 5.1 seconds and hit two free throws to make it 106-102.

"It's hard playing a team with nothing to lose," said Bynum. "You have to match their energy and try to grind it out."

The Pacers jumped out to a 28-27 lead after the first quarter and led 52-49 at the break.

Indiana got out to a quick start in the second half, but Hamilton's jumper and Rodney Stuckey's two free throws closed it to 62-59 with 7:35 left in the third.

The teams traded baskets and Ford's two free throws made it 78-73 Indiana headed to the fourth.

Ford's three-point play gave the Pacers an 83-75 lead early in the fourth.

Later in the frame, six straight points from Bynum pulled the Pistons within 94-93 with 3:50 left to play.

Game Notes

Detroit is in the playoffs for the eighth straight year...The Pistons, who fell to 18-22 as the guest this season, will host Chicago and visit Miami to close out the regular season...Indiana will wrap up the regular season by closing out a three-game homestand and will also see Cleveland and Milwaukee.
