=== Cincinnati Reds Team Report - July 18 === (My Sportsbook) - The Cincinnati Reds can salvage a split in their four-game series with the St. Louis Cardinals, as they play the finale today at Great American Ball Park. Cincinnati picked up a dramatic win in Saturday's game, as Adam Dunn's three- run homer in the bottom of the eighth proved to be the difference in the 7-5 victory. Dunn's homer broke a 4-4 tie and gave the Reds just their second win in five contests. Barry Larkin added two hits, including a homer, and two runs scored for Cincinnati, which won for the first time in this four-game set against the NL Central-leading Cardinals. Wily Mo Pena added a two-run shot for the Reds, who beat St. Louis for only the second time in nine meetings this season. Cincinnati starter Cory Lidle was charged with three runs on six hits in 6 1/3 innings of work. The righthander struck out five and walked two. Jose Acevedo will try to nail down his first victory in over three weeks, as he takes the ball for the Reds today. Acevedo's last win came on June 25 against Pittsburgh and he has been 0-1 in three starts since then. Acevedo has posted back-to-back no decisions with the latest one coming Sunday in Milwaukee. He surrendered five runs in five innings during a game that Cincinnati eventually won, 9-6. The 26-year-old is 0-4 with an 8.17 ERA in five career starts against the Cardinals. The Cardinals have won 13 of the last 17 matchups between these teams.
