Seattle, WA (My Sportsbook) - Angels star outfielder Vladimir Guerrero, suffering from a strained right pectoral muscle, left the team Thursday night to fly back to Los Angeles to visit team orthopedist Dr. Lewis Yocum. Guerrero has been the designated hitter in each of his eight appearances this season due to tightness in a chest muscle. He's hitting .250 with a homer and three RBI thus far in 2009. One of only two players in MLB history to compile a .300 average and at least 25 homers in 11 straight season (Lou Gehrig, 1927-37), Guerrero could miss this weekend's series at Minnesota. Juan Rivera served as the designated hitter for Thursday's game against the Mariners.
