Bronx, NY (My Sportsbook) - New York Yankees slugger Hideki Matsui was not in the starting lineup for Friday's contest against Cleveland because of fluid in his left knee. Matsui, whom Yankees manager Joe Girardi said has taken a step back in his recovery from left knee surgery last September, was kept out of the lineup as a precaution but was not ruled out as a pinch hitter. The 34-year-old is hitting just .154 with one homer and two runs batted in through eight games this season. New York also made a pair of roster moves, recalling first baseman Juan Miranda from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, while optioning pitcher David Robertson to Scranton. Robertson pitched two scoreless innings in New York's 10-2 setback on Thursday.
