Florham Park, NJ (My Sportsbook) - The New York Jets changed the start time of their home game on September 27 against the Tennessee Titans from 4:15 p.m. (et) to 1 p.m. to accommodate fans observing Yom Kippur, the Jewish day of atonement. Yom Kippur begins at sundown that Sunday. "By changing the time of the Tennessee game from 4:15 p.m. to 1 p.m., the NFL has provided the best compromise to resolve our scheduling conflict. I want to thank Commissioner Goodell and Howard Katz for quickly responding to our request to accommodate our fans of Jewish faith." Due to the change, both New York teams will play at the same time on September 27, but on different TV networks. The New York Giants play on the road against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers that afternoon. The Jets lodged a complaint to the NFL for the possibility of starting consecutive home games on Jewish holidays. The September 20 home opener against New England is slated for 1 p.m., during Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year.
