Flushing, NY (My Sportsbook) - Several teams need pitching help heading into the 2003 season, and Tom Glavine just may be the solution for a couple of teams. The New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies are two teams courting the lefthander. The Mets have offered a three-year deal worth about $31 million, while the Phillies have an offer of worth between $27 million and $30 million. Glavine, an eight-time All-Star selection, is also being offered a one-year, $9 million contract with the Atlanta Braves. Glavine has only played with the Braves since he was drafted in 1984 and has compiled a 242-143 record with a 3.37 earned run average over 16 seasons. The two-time Cy Young Award winner went 18-11 with a 2.96 ERA in 2002.
