Washington, DC (My Sportsbook) - The
Miami Heat hope to halt a four-game losing streak on Saturday when they face the
Washington Wizards at MCI Center.
The Heat's only win this season came at home on November 3 against the mighty Sacramento Kings. However, they have followed that with four straight losses -- all at AmericanAirlines Arena -- to fall to 1-6.
On Friday, Miami suffered a 93-84 loss to the New Jersey Nets, as Jason Kidd poured in 33 points, grabbed six rebounds and dished out six assists.
Eddie Jones and Caron Butler each tallied 18 points and nine boards for the Heat. Travis Best added 16 points and Brian Grant collected 15 rebounds for Miami, which is off to its worst start in eight seasons.
The Heat are 0-1 on the road this season and 0-3 against the Eastern Conference. Miami plays its next three games away from AmericanAirlines Arena.
Meanwhile, the Wizards have won four of their last five games, most recently topping the Utah Jazz on Thursday, 105-102.
Jerry Stackhouse scored 25 points and Michael Jordan added 19 off the bench, as the Wizards staved off a second-half comeback and outlasted the Jazz at MCI Center.
Tyronn Lue contributed a season-high 18 points and Bryon Russell chipped in 16 for the Wizards. Washington converted on an amazing 34 straight free throws in the game and finished the contest 36-of-39 from the line. Stackhouse was a perfect 14-of-14 from the charity stripe.
Washington is 4-2 at home this season and 3-2 against Eastern Conference foes.
The Wizards won the first two meetings with Miami last season before the Heat captured the final two. Each team won once at home and on the road. Overall, Miami has claimed 13 of the last 15 matchups with the Wizards. The Heat have also won seven of their last eight at Washington.
