Indiana Pacers attempt to capture their seventh straight victory on Saturday when they travel to Minnesota to square off with the Timberwolves.
The Pacers, off to the best start in the franchise's NBA history, claimed their sixth straight win Friday by pulling out a 103-100 overtime victory over the Milwaukee Bucks.
Ron Artest scored 22 points and converted the game-winning three-point play in the extra session, as Indiana blew a 20-point, fourth-quarter lead before going on to the triumph at Conseco Fieldhouse.
Jermaine O'Neal led Indiana with 23 points and grabbed 16 rebounds, while Brad Miller had 10 points and 11 boards as the Pacers improved to 6-0 at home this season.
Ray Allen hit a running jumper in the lane with 27 seconds remaining in overtime to give Milwaukee a 100-99 lead. After a timeout, Artest received the inbounds pass and hit a turnaround shot while being fouled. Artest completed the three-point play and gave the Pacers a 102-100 lead with 13.1 seconds to play.
Sam Cassell then missed a jumper with two-tenths of a second remaining, sealing the win for Indiana.
The Wolves snapped a three-game losing streak on Friday by defeating the woeful Memphis Grizzlies, 99-95.
Kevin Garnett poured in a game-high 28 points and Wally Szczerbiak added 22 to spoil Hubie Brown's Memphis coaching debut at the Pyramid.
Rasho Nesterovic and Kendall Gill each added 12 points, while Troy Hudson contributed 10 points and dished out seven assists, as the T'wolves won for the first time this season on the road (1-4).
Saturday's game will mark the final meeting between the Pacers and Wolves this season. The Pacers claimed an 87-80 victory back on November 2 at Conseco Fieldhouse.
The Pacers have won the last two meetings with Minnesota and three of the last four. Indiana has won three of the last five and seven of the last 10 at Minnesota.
The Pacers are 1-1 on the road this season, while the Wolves are 4-1 at home.
