Oakland, CA (My Sportsbook) - The
Orlando Magic hope to continue a strong start to their season-long, six-game road trip on Saturday when they travel to Oakland to face the
Golden State Warriors.
The Magic began their swing with a 101-80 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday at Staples Center. The win snapped a two-game losing streak and avenged a November 10 home loss to the Clippers.
Tracy McGrady led all scorers with 35 points, hitting on 14-of-26 shots from the field, including 3-of-6 from behind the arc.
McGrady, the league's leading scorer, had his sixth 30-plus point game of the season.
Grant Hill added 17 points and Pat Garrity scored 14 off the bench for the Magic, who led by as many as 25 in the fourth quarter.
The Magic are 3-1 on the road this year and 3-2 against the Western Conference.
The Warriors are coming off a tough 96-89 overtime loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday.
Antawn Jamison scored 25 points and Erick Dampier netted 19 points and pulled down a game-high 16 rebounds for the Warriors, who have lost eight of their last nine games overall.
The Warriors closed the fourth quarter with a 15-5 run to force the extra period.
With Golden State down by three late in the fourth, Gilbert Arenas missed a three-point attempt, but Jamison grabbed the offensive rebound and fed it to Jason Richardson, who tied the score at 85-85 with 4.2 seconds left as he nailed a wide open three-pointer from the corner.
However, the Warriors were outscored 11-4 in the extra session.
The Warriors are just 1-2 at home this season and 0-1 against the Eastern Conference. Golden State opens a five-game homestand Saturday and plays 10 of its next 11 games on its home court.
The Magic won both meetings with the Warriors last season and have won the last five overall. Orlando has also captured two straight and three of its last four in Oakland.
