Minneapolis, MN (My Sportsbook) - Don Zierden reportedly resigned as head coach of the Minnesota Lynx late Tuesday. The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports Zierden resigned to join the coaching staff of the Washington Wizards. The Lynx have a news conference scheduled for noon (et) Wednesday to make the announcement. This will be Zierden's third time working with Wizards head coach Flip Saunders. Prior to joining the Lynx, Zierden spent time with the Detroit Pistons and Minnesota Timberwolves in the NBA. In his two seasons with the Lynx, Zierden compiled a 26-42 record. The Lynx are scheduled to open their 2009 season on Saturday against Chicago.
