Oakland, CA (My Sportsbook) - The disappointing
Los Angeles Clippers travel to Oakland to battle the
Golden State Warriors on Monday.
The Clippers have dropped their last three contests to fall four games below .500. Most recently, LA suffered an 84-78 home setback to the Seattle SuperSonics on Sunday.
The Clippers were led by Elton Brand's 19 points and game-high 16 rebounds. Eric Piatkowski added 17 points, while Corey Maggette and Andre Miller each chipped in 12 points.
LA led 64-54 entering the four quarter, but the Sonics began the frame with a 17-3 burst to take command of the game.
The Clippers are 2-3 on the road this season and 0-3 against the West -- all within the Pacific Division.
The Warriors are coming off an impressive 135-92 pounding of the Orlando Magic on Saturday.
The 43-point win tied for the sixth-largest margin of victory in club history. It was Golden State's biggest win since a 141-95 triumph over the Clippers on December 23, 1993 -- the last season the Warriors made the playoffs.
Troy Murphy had a career-high 24 points and pulled down 12 rebounds to lead the Warriors.
Gilbert Arenas added 23 points and eight assists, while Antawn Jamison had 22 points for Golden State, which snapped a two-game slide and sent Orlando to its worst loss in franchise history.
The Warriors will play the second of a five-game homestand on Monday. They are 2-2 on their court this season and 2-7 versus the West (0-3 vs. Pacific).
The Clippers and Warriors split four meetings last season, with each team winning once at home and on the road. LA has won nine of the last 13 overall and eight of the last 11 in Oakland.
