New York, NY (My Sportsbook) - Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender Nikolai Khabibulin has been named NHL Player of the Week for the period ending Sunday, November 17. Khabibulin posted three consecutive victories with a 1.63 goals-against average and .950 save percentage in three games last week, leading the Lightning to wins against Phoenix, San Jose and Carolina. The 29-year-old made 34 saves in a 4-2 victory over the Coyotes on Monday, then turned aside 27 shots in a 4-2 win against the Sharks on Friday, and finished the week a spectacular 35-save effort in a 2-1 overtime triumph on the road versus the Hurricanes on Sunday. Khabibulin has appeared in 17 of Tampa Bay's 18 games this season, and has earned a 11-4-2 record with a 2.26 goals-against average and .912 save percentage. Khabibulin leads the NHL in victories so far, and is also second among goaltenders in minutes played. The Lightning lead the Southeast Division and are second overall in the Eastern Conference. Khabibulin edged out Vancouver center Brendan Morrison (three goals, three assists in three games), Dallas Stars goaltender Mary Turco (3-0-0, 1.63 GAA, .917 save percentage) and Ottawa Senators center Todd White (four goals, two assists in three games) for the award.
