New York, NY (My Sportsbook) - THe NHL fined Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Marc Bergevin $1,000 on Monday. Bergevin was fined for verbally abusing an official after Pittsburgh's 3-2 loss to the New York Islanders on Saturday. Bergevin was then given a gross misconduct penalty following the game. The penalty calls for an automatic $200 penalty and referral of the case to the league for further disciplinary action. Pittsburgh is in the midst of a five-game winless streak (0-4-1). |
