Chattanooga, TN (My Sportsbook) - Chris Baryla closed with a two-under 70 on Sunday to capture his first Nationwide Tour win at the Chattanooga Classic.

Baryla, who carried a two-shot lead into the final round, finished at 19-under 269 for a one-stroke victory over Troy Kelly. He claimed $90,000 for his first win and moved to 20th on the money list.

Kelly fired a seven-under 65 to take second place at 18-under 270, while Cameron Percy (65), Vance Veazey (65) and David Branshaw (67) shared third at 17-under 271.

With only two events remaining this year -- including the season-ending Nationwide Tour Championship -- players are running out of time to secure their PGA Tour cards for 2010.

The top 25 on the year-end money list will automatically earn promotions.

With his win Sunday, Baryla moved into that pack. But it wasn't easy.

The 26-year-old Canadian struggled early on to keep his name near the top of the leaderboard amongst a slew of players who were posting low scores.

He opened with back-to-back bogeys on the Black Creek course -- not an ideal start -- but rallied for three consecutive birdies between the fifth and seventh holes.

Baryla added a birdie at the 10th to reach two-under for the round, but he dropped back to even-par with a double-bogey on the par-four 12th.

He staged another rally after that, however, by collecting three straight birdies for the second time Sunday -- this time between holes 14 and 16. He then parred the 17th to carry a two-shot lead to the final tee.

Baryla reached the green in three shots at the par-five 18th and three-putted for a closing bogey, his fifth dropped shot of the day. It was just good enough to earn him the one-stroke victory.
