Philadelphia Flyers will try and push their unbeaten string to five tonight when they welcome the San Jose Sharks to the First Union Center.
After three consecutive ties, the Flyers picked up a 3-2 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday.
Simon Gagne had a goal and an assist to lead Philadelphia to the win. Jeremy Roenick and John LeClair also scored for the Flyers, who have just one win in their last six games (1-2-3).
Gagne, who picked up his second goal of the season after leading the team with 33 a year ago, snapped a 12-game goal-scoring drought. His last tally was on October 19 against Washington.
Roman Cechmanek made 17 saves for the Flyers, who are 5-1-3-0 on their home ice. However, Philadelphia is winless in its last three (0-1-2) in the City of Brotherly Love.
The Sharks enter Thursday's tilt on a winning note after back-to-back victories, including a 3-2 decision over the Washington Capitals on Tuesday.
Patrick Marleau notched a goal and an assist, and Evgeni Nabokov registered 46 saves in the victory.
Teemu Selanne and Owen Nolan also scored for the Sharks, who have won two straight after four consecutive losses. Nabokov stopped 18-of-20 third-period shots to preserve his fourth win of the season.
Marleau and Nolan each scored on the power play for San Jose, which improved to 5-4-0-2 on the road this year. Marleau tallied his seventh goal in his last seven games after being without a goal in his first 14.
The Sharks are in the midst of an eight-game road trip, which they are currently 2-1-0-1. The set will wrap up with stops in Pittsburgh, St. Louis and Nashville.
Philadelphia, which has won three straight at the First Union Center against San Jose, is 4-1-1 in the last six, 6-2-1 in the last nine and 9-2-2 in the last 13 versus the Sharks.
