San Francisco, CA (My Sportsbook) - The San Francisco Giants claimed infielder Neifi Perez off waivers from the Kansas City Royals. Perez hit .236 with three homers and 37 RBI over 145 games last season for Kansas City. He won a Gold Glove at shortstop in 2000 when he played for the Colorado Rockies. Over seven major league seasons, Perez has compiled a .272 batting average and has stolen 44 bases. The Giants signed Perez because of the possibility of losing two of their free agent infielders in second baseman Jeff Kent and third baseman David Bell.
