Bronx, NY (My Sportsbook) - The New York Mets have been granted permission by the Yankees to interview third base coach Willie Randolph for the team's vacant manager's job. Randolph, a former Yankees' second baseman, played 18 seasons in the majors. He interviewed last week with the Detroit Tigers, who fired manager Luis Pujols. The 48-year old Randolph also played for the Pirates, Dodgers, Athletics, Brewers and Mets. Former Yankees' first baseman Chris Chambliss interviewed with the Mets for the opening over the weekend.
