Philadelphia, PA (My Sportsbook) - Lou Williams scored 19 points and made the game-winning layup with 3.1 seconds left in the fourth quarter, as the Philadelphia 76ers edged the Charlotte Bobcats, 86-84, at the Wachovia Center.

Williams also had six assists for the Sixers, who snapped a two-game skid. Andre Iguodala poured in 25 points and grabbed five rebounds. Elton Brand had his best game of the season, tallying season-highs of 19 points, 11 boards and six blocks in a little under 42 minutes -- also a season-high.

"It was a great win. A lot of people had key roles. Obviously, Elton was really solid for us," said Sixers head coach Eddie Jordan.

In his second game with the Bobcats, Stephen Jackson had 26 points, five rebounds, and five assists. Gerald Wallace added 11 points and 12 rebounds for Charlotte, which has dropped six consecutive games.

"I thought we did a pretty darn good job. We defended pretty well and did a good job, but every game there are a bunch of turnovers," said Bobcats head coach Larry Brown. "We fought back, hung in and had a chance to win, but they made plays. Give them credit."

Down 81-77, Charlotte ripped off seven straight points late in the fourth quarter. Jackson made a jumper and three-pointer before Boris Diaw made a layup to give the Bobcats an 84-81 lead with 1:49 remaining.

A pair of Williams foul shots cut Philadelphia's deficit to 84-83, and Jackson missed a jumper at the other end. Iguodala was then fouled while driving to the hoop and made 1-of-2 from the line to tie the game with 30.9 seconds left.

Diaw missed a three-pointer from the corner at the opposite end of the floor. Iguodala grabbed the rebound and pushed the ball up court before passing off to Williams, who put in the game-winning layup with 3.1 seconds left on the clock.

After a timeout, Iguodala stole the inbounds pass to secure the victory for the Sixers.

Trailing 21-16, the Sixers closed the first quarter on 13-1 run. Brand and Iguodala had four points each during the stretch that Rodney Carney capped with a three-pointer for a 29-22 lead after 12 minutes.

A Nazr Mohammed hook shot, Wallace free throw and Diaw jumper late in the second quarter got the Bobcats within 44-42, but Philadelphia responded with eight straight points. Brand started the run with a layup and Williams ended the burst with 2-of-3 from the line for a 10-point margin. Wallace made 1-of-2 from the foul line to cut the gap to 52-43 at the break.

Charlotte turned the ball over five times in the half, leading to 13 Sixers points.

The Bobcats put together a 7-0 flurry while down eight more than midway through the third. Wallace made a three-pointer and a layup during the spurt to help cut the gap to 60-59 with 4 1/2 minutes left. Philadelphia held a 69-65 edge heading to the fourth.
