Miami, FL (My Sportsbook) - The
Detroit Pistons and
Miami Heat play the back end of a home-and-home set Friday when the teams meet at AmericanAirlines Arena.
The Pistons were victorious in the front end on Wednesday, rolling to a 79-68 win at the Palace of Auburn Hills.
Ben Wallace registered his second career triple-double and Chucky Atkins scored 21 points as Detroit rode a strong second half to go on to the win.
Wallace tied a career-high with 10 blocked shots, pulled down 19 rebounds and scored 12 for Detroit, which remained unbeaten at home (6-0) and has won four of five.
Wallace tied his own franchise record for blocks in a game and set a new team mark for blocks in a quarter with six in the first.
Clifford Robinson added 13 points off the bench and Corliss Williamson scored 11 as a reserve for the Pistons, who made 9-of-20 from behind the arc but shot just 47-percent (8-of-17) from the free-throw line in the game.
Eddie Jones paced Miami with 15 points and Vladimir Stepania scored 12 and grabbed a team-high 13 boards for the Heat, who shot just 40 percent (28- of-69) from the field in the contest and have just one win in their last seven games. Miami has lost three-of-four as the visitor this season.
Detroit guard Chauncey Billups (sprained right ankle) missed Wednesday's game and will likely sit out Friday's game plus Saturday's affair at Indiana.
Detroit is 3-3 on the road this season and 3-1 against the Eastern Conference, while the Heat are 1-5 at home and 1-6 versus the East.
The Pistons have won two straight and three of the last four meetings with Miami overall. However, Detroit has dropped four of its last five and eight of its last 11 at Miami. The Heat and Pistons have split 26 all-time meetings in Miami.
