Denver, CO (My Sportsbook) - The Denver Nuggets attempt to snap a five-game losing streak on Friday when they square off with the Los Angeles Clippers at Pepsi Center. The Nuggets suffered their fifth straight loss on Wednesday by falling to the Utah Jazz at home, 96-79. Juwan Howard scored 17 points and pulled down a game-high 13 boards for the Nuggets. James Posey chipped in 14 points and Kenny Satterfield scored 11 for Denver. The Nuggets shot just 31 percent from the field during the game and failed to score 80 points for the fifth straight game, but also forced Utah into committing 31 turnovers. Denver guard Chris Whitney was placed on the injured list prior to the game with a sprained left ankle. The Nuggets are 1-5 at home this season and 2-4 against the Western Conference. Meanwhile, the disappointing Clippers have lost four of their last five. LA is coming off a 93-89 home loss to the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday. Corey Maggette poured in a career-high 30 points, but the Clippers fell to 1-5 at home on the season. Elton Brand chipped in 21 points and 10 rebounds to post his 11th straight double-double. Andre Miller had 11 points, seven assists and six rebounds in the loss. LA is 3-3 on the road this season and 1-4 versus the Western Conference. The Clippers won the last three games with Denver last season after dropping the initial meeting. LA has won five of the last six overall. The Clippers snapped a seven-game road losing streak in this series in the last contest at Denver.
